A little bit of History:

The first production Mustang rolled off the assembly line in Dearborn, Michigan on March 9, 1964, and was introduced to the public at the New York World’s Fair on April 17, 1964 via all three American television networks on April 19. It made an appearance in the James Bond film Goldfinger in September of 1964. It was one of the most successful product launches in automotive history. The Mustang sold over one million units in its first 18 months on the market. The Mustang remains in production today after many decades and numerous revisions.

In 1990 a handful of Mustang enthusiasts had the great idea to honor the story and life of this mystical car by the foundation of the VINTAGE MUSTANG CLUB OF LUXEMBOURG.

Since day one the club found a lot of interest and the number of members kept on growing on a regular basis.

In 1994, as the celebration of the 30th Anniversary of the Ford Mustang, the club organized the EUROPEAN MUSTANG ANNIVERSARY CONVENTION on the race track in Colmar Berg (Luxembourg) by gathering no less than 225 cars coming from all over Europe to celebrate this event.

In 2004, as the celebration of the 40th Anniversary, a meeting was organized with the Ford Dealership in Grevenmacher (Luxembourg)

with a target of 40 cars only from Luxembourg.

The event was successful and many Mustang aficionados had the possibility of a ride in

the cars on display, this for the benefit of TELEVIE Luxembourg.

All over these many years the VINTAGE MUSTANG CLUB OF LUXEMBOURG attended

meetings all over Europe and shared experiences with members from other country local clubs.

In 2010 the club celebrated its 20th Anniversary with a very well visited and successful 1

week car exhibition in the Mall of the BELLE ETOILE SHOPPING CENTER in Bertrange (Luxembourg).

Today the Luxembourg community of Mustang owners (vintage and modern) has grown to

quite a significant number and the VMCL currently accounts for a nice 60 members.

The event: As in 2014 a very unique Anniversary (50 years of a Legend) lays ahead of us the

The event will take place from June 7 until June 15, 2014

and tour the participants from Luxembourg, through Belgium, the

Netherlands, Germany, Switzerland, France and will end with a Concours d’Elegance back

again in Luxembourg at NOON ON JUNE 15, 2014 (Casino 2000 in Mondorf-les-Bains).

As the tour will be placed under the wings of charity any benefits generated during the

tour, from car exhibits and other events in the various country locations or any donations,

will be sponsored in favor of Make-A-Wish® Luxembourg, thus allowing them to support

any projects in fulfilling wishes of children with life-threatening medical conditions.

50 Jahre Ford Mustang
